(ooc: May 1st. Closed to Gantu and myself.)
"Wow. Never thought I'd be here again."
625 had actually gotten used to living in that one spot after so long. Experiment hunting had certainly helped to change his and Gantu's lives for good. 625 hadn't even actually gotten involved in it that often. He'd more often than not served as Gantu's snarky sidekick. In a way, it bonded them. He couldn't really imagine himself working with anyone other than Gantu by that point, and it showed in how closely he had stuck with the larger alien in the Galactic Alliance. The job wasn't that bad when it came down to it. It required 625 to be much more active than he would have liked, but for the end result of staying with Gantu? It was worth it. The downside was that he still had to answer to Reuben some of the time. The name wasn't bad, and it was better than some of the other names that Lilo had suggested (though honestly, he had kind of liked the sound of Monte), but... He'd been addressed by 625 for ages. The number had stuck more than the name Lilo had finally given him. But 625 was flexible, or so he liked to think. He'd adjust to whatever the others wanted to call him.
Reality sank in again as 625 walked toward the waterfall. He had come there purely for the sake of reliving some of what had happened years ago. Maybe it was silly, but he didn't care. The waterfall held good memories for him. The ship wasn't there anymore, and it was like a huge hunk of something familiar was missing as a result, but he didn't mind. 625 just wanted to be there.
He suspected that Gantu would notice his absence before long. That likely meant that the bigger alien was going to come looking for him. Thankfully, ol' Reuben wasn't doing anything bad. He just was taking a trip down memory lane. The only thing that would complete it was Gantu's presence. Speaking of, though, he had a pretty good feeling about the day. His friend was bound to come sooner or later. 625 was confident about that much. So confident, in fact, that he turned around to actually see if he was right.
Turned out, he wasn't really.
"There you are, pally," 625 said. "I was wonderin' when you'd come lookin' for me. What'sa matter? Miss me?"
